While the COVID-19 pandemic has affected different people in different ways, a recent nationwide Cigna-M/A/R/C® research survey uncovers a few positive outcomes.1 Many people report stronger personal relationships, with 55% of parents saying their relationships with their kids changed for the better and 41% of adults reporting relationships with significant others had improved during the pandemic.
And once it’s safe to do so, giving hugs are high on people’s list of post-pandemic activities, along with seeing family and friends in person, vacationing and dining in restaurants.
In addition, individuals who are more resilient are more likely to report better overall health, are more physically active, and more likely to stay in contact with their family. These insights can be useful to employers and plan sponsors, who can help strengthen workforce resiliency as they continue to support individual health and well-being while the nation moves toward the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
