Walnut Creek, CA – August 21, 2024 – Cigna Healthcare has named longtime company leader Marlene Matsuoka as general manager for its group employer business in Northern California.
In this role, Marlene will be responsible for driving market growth for client employers with under 3,000 employees by creating customer value and ensuring that the local market strategy, product and network offerings meet evolving customer and client needs. She will also work with the markets’ network leaders, medical executives and others to advance outreach in the communities Cigna Healthcare serves.

Marlene brings more than 35 years of experience building strategic client relationships and managing high-performing sales teams at Cigna Healthcare. She most recently served as vice president of account management in Northern California, delivering exceptional earnings and results over her 16-year tenure. Prior to joining the company in 2008, Marlene held sales, account management and leadership positions at Great-West Healthcare, Blue Shield of California, MetLife and HealthAmerica.
Marlene resides in Lafayette and will be based at Cigna Healthcare’s Walnut Creek office.
