GLENDALE, Calif. — August 16, 2023 — Cigna Healthcare has named Tim Closson as general manager for its group employer business in Southern California.
In this role, Tim will be responsible for driving market growth for client employers with under 3,000 employees by creating customer value and ensuring that the local market strategy, product and network offerings meet evolving customer and client needs. He will also work with the markets’ network leaders, medical executives and others to advance outreach in the communities Cigna Healthcare serves.

Tim has a wealth of industry experience garnered over a more than 30-year sales leadership career that included six years in Cigna Healthcare’s Southern California market. Most recently, Tim was with Health Net of California, where he first served as Director, Major Accounts before his role as Director, Large Group. Prior to this, he held management roles with Anthem Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Blue Shield of California, and Great-West Healthcare. As a Vice President of Sales and Account Management with Cigna Healthcare, he was a Gold Circle Qualifier for three consecutive years.
Tim resides in Pasadena and will be based at Cigna Healthcare’s Glendale office.
