Cigna Takes Further Action to Fight COVID-19 in India
By

To support India’s fight against COVID-19 and ensure continued access to essential health supplies and vaccines, the Cigna Foundation is donating $100,000 and will match eligible-employee donations.

“I speak on behalf of Cigna when I say we are in this together with India,” said Jason Sadler, president, Cigna International Markets. “This pandemic has brought to light how interconnected our world is and has highlighted the need for us to come together as one global community to support and protect one another in these difficult times. Cigna is proud to partner with UNICEF to help save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19.”

Cigna’s donation will support UNICEF and their critical work, including:

  • Increasing access to life-saving oxygen: Oxygen therapy is a critical treatment for people with moderate and severe COVID-19.
  • Boosting RT-PCR testing: Rapid, accurate testing is an essential tool in the fight against COVID-19.
  • Expanding access to vaccines: Greater vaccine availability is key to fighting COVID-19.

Cigna is working closely with ManipalCigna and local leadership to support and protect colleagues, customers, partners and the community during this exceptionally challenging time. This includes providing access to the COVID-19 vaccine for our employees and establishing a community service portal for employee donations to this effort. Eligible donations will be matched automatically by the Cigna Foundation per matching gifts program guidelines.
